     Encore Creative Arts Camps will host "Art Experience" - Visual and Creative Arts Camps this Fall, Monday-Wednesday during Thanksgiving Break. Campers ages 7-15 will sample some of the student's favorite camps at Encore including: Sketching and Anime, Miniature Craft, Painting, Theatre, Photography & Film, and a few Science Experiments!   Halloween Costume Swap at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

     Cost: Included with admission Date: Saturday October 19 (Otaku Smash Fest) Time: 12pm-4pm Location: Inamori Pavilion (gift shop side) How it Works JFGM is accepting gently used children, adults, and pet costumes in all sizes through 10/17. Halloween decor and props will also be accepted. All costumes or props must be prewashed. (Please place them into a bag if you are bringing multiple items). Drop-offs can be made at the front gate ticket booth 10am-4pm, or email visitorengagement@niwa.org to schedule a drop-off in the lower garden. Fill out a short form with your name, and description of items you are donating to the event. Participants will receive 1 ticket per donated item or set to exchange for an equivalent item the day of the event during check-in. Example: 1 clothing item =1 clothing item. 1 Necklace, glasses, or shoes = 1 accessory Items that will not be accepted are undergarments and defective, or inappropriate costumes. Costumes must be clean and free of rips and stains. Decor must be family friendly. Leftover costumes will be donated. Walk-ins accepted.   The Zoo, located adjacent to downtown San Diego in Balboa Park, is 100 acres in size and houses over 12,000 animals across 680 different species and sub-species from the forests and jungles of the world. It is viewed in several ways, first and foremost by walking along pathways, into aviaries, and through bioclimatic zones. There is a 35-minute Guided Bus Tour that gives a good overview of the Zoo, along with an Express Bus that stops at several locations to assist guests in accessing different areas. We suggest taking the Guided Bus Tour upon your arrival to acquaint yourself with the various areas where you would like to spend additional time. The Zoo is a unique walking experience that exhibits animals in the most natural way possible, adding shows and animal presentations throughout the day for additional enjoyment.      Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book. Back for its 27th incredible year, the family favorite features the songs "Santa for a Day," "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," and "Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze)," the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, is once again transformed into the snow-covered Who-ville, right down to the last can of Who-hash. For Ages 3+: For Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, children under the age of three are not permitted. Each individual attending the show must have a ticket for admission. 10:30 a.m. Performances Are All-Ages Children under the age of three will be admitted to 10:30 a.m. performances only, which are open to all ages. At the 10:30 a.m. performances only, children under the age of two are free, but must occupy the same seat and sit on the lap of a parent or guardian in attendance.
